Radiant Moissanite Three-Side Pavé Hidden Halo Ring: A Buyer’s Guide
Pavé on the top and both sides of the band, a hidden halo under the stone. The most sparkle a radiant can have, and what that asks of you as an owner.

Short answer: This ring sets a radiant cut moissanite above a hidden halo, on a band with pavé on three faces — the top and both sides. It sparkles from every angle. It is made to order in 925 silver or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold, from 2 carats (8.2 × 6.2 mm) to 5 carats (11 × 9 mm). Three-side pavé limits resizing, so get the size right first.
Most pavé bands set stones only along the top. Three-side pavé adds rows down both sides, so the band glitters when seen from the side as well as from above. With a hidden halo under the radiant, there is sparkle from every direction. Our latest order was a 4 carat radiant in sterling silver.
Three-side pavé compared
| Plain band | Top pavé | Three-side pavé | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sparkle from the side | None | A little | Full |
| Resizing | Easy | Limited | Most limited |
| Contact with daily life | Metal only | Top stones protected by sides | Side stones meet desks and doors |
| Next to a wedding band | No wear | Some | Side stones rub the band |
The side rows are the trade-off. They are the stones that touch desks, steering wheels and the ring beside them, so they see more wear than stones on top. A spacer band between this ring and a wedding band protects both.
The sizes in millimetres
The radiant comes in seven sizes: 2 carat (8.2 × 6.2 mm), 2.5 carat (9 × 7 mm), 3 carat (9.5 × 7.5 mm), 3.5 carat (10 × 8 mm), 4 carat (10.2 × 8.2 mm), 4.5 carat (10.5 × 8.5 mm) and 5 carat (11 × 9 mm). The shape gets slightly squarer as it grows, and the step from 3.5 to 4 carats adds only 0.2 mm each way — hard to see on a hand.
From the workshop
Our latest customer chose this ring in sterling silver with a 4 carat radiant. Three-side pavé in silver is a beautiful ring that needs the most attention of any band we make, because silver (about Mohs 2.6) is soft and the side rows take everyday knocks. Three habits keep it looking right: take it off for the gym, gardening and cleaning; store it alone in a soft pouch; and have the pavé checked once a year. Most important of all, get the size right before ordering. With stones on three faces, there is very little plain metal to adjust later. Measure the inside diameter of a ring that already fits, in millimetres.
Before you order: a short checklist
- Measure your ring size carefully; resizing is very limited.
- Choose the radiant size by millimetres and do a paper test.
- Check the head height on the CAD side view; a hidden halo lifts the stone.
- Choose 14K gold for daily wear; silver for occasional wear.
- Plan a spacer band if you will wear a wedding band beside it.

Frequently asked questions
What is three-side pavé?
A band with small stones set along the top and down both sides, so it sparkles from above and from the side.
Can a three-side pavé ring be resized?
Only very slightly, because stones cover three faces of the band. Get the size right before ordering.
Is three-side pavé durable?
Yes, with care. The side stones take more knocks than top stones, so choose 14K gold for daily wear and have the pavé checked regularly.
What sizes does the radiant come in?
Seven, from 2 carats (8.2 × 6.2 mm) to 5 carats (11 × 9 mm).
Can I wear a wedding band next to three-side pavé?
Yes, but the side stones will wear a plain band where they touch. A thin plain spacer between them protects both rings.
