Fine rings are often worn on a chain or kept safely at home during deployment. When sending a ring to an APO or FPO address, check which carriers deliver there, allow extra time and insure it. For proposals, plan around leave dates and confirm the ring size before orders move you.

A ring means a great deal during a separation — which is exactly why it needs a plan. Service environments are hard on hands and on jewelry, and addresses change on someone else's schedule.
