A round brilliant lab grown diamond is held in four fine claws above a band that is pave set on three sides. Diamonds run along the top of the shank and continue down both outer walls, so from every angle except the inside of the finger the metal is covered in stones. Beneath the centre stone a hidden halo circles the basket and lights the profile.

Three sided pave is difficult to do well. Each row has to taper as the shank narrows and every stone has to sit at the same depth, or the band looks uneven when it catches light. Done properly it gives an engagement ring the density of a much heavier piece while keeping the shank slim enough to wear comfortably every day.

Band details

The shank is a slim rounded band that rises into a cathedral bridge at the head. Pave covers the crown and both flanks and stops at the inner face, which is left as smooth polished metal so the ring is comfortable against the finger and easy to keep clean.

Metal options

Choose from 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Yellow gold gives a warm frame that makes each pave stone read individually. Rose gold softens the whole band. White gold and sterling silver melt the pave into the centre stone so the entire ring reads as one field of light. Every metal is finished by hand in our workshop.

Frequently asked questions

What is three sided pave?
It means the small diamonds are set along the top of the band and down both of its outer sides, so the shank sparkles from above and from either profile. A standard pave band carries stones on the top face only.

Do pave stones fall out?
Not when they are set properly. Each stone sits in its own seat held by raised beads of metal. We inspect every setting under magnification before dispatch, and we recommend a check every couple of years the same as any pave ring.

What is a hidden halo?
A hidden halo is a ring of small diamonds set around the basket beneath the centre stone, facing outward rather than upward. It is invisible from above and adds a bright collar when the ring is seen from the side.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. A lab grown diamond has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness, refractive index and fire as a mined diamond. The only difference is that it was grown in a controlled environment rather than pulled from the ground.

Will I receive a certificate?
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included with every order at no additional cost.

Can a three sided pave ring be resized?
Within a limited range, yes, because the inner face is left plain and can be worked. Large changes are harder on any fully pave band, so it is worth confirming your size before ordering.

Which metal is best for daily wear?
14K and 18K gold are the most durable choices for a ring worn every day. 10K is harder still. Sterling silver is softer and suits gentler wear or a first ring.
