A round brilliant lab grown diamond is set in four tapered claws on the thinnest band we make. The shank is a knife edge profile, which means it rises to a fine ridge along its centre line instead of being flat or fully rounded, so from above it reads as a thread of light and from the side it almost disappears. Because there is so little metal, the centre stone appears to sit directly on the finger, and a stone of any given carat weight looks larger here than it would on a standard band. Nothing else is added.

Band details

The shank is a knife edge wire, narrower than a standard solitaire band and polished on both faces so the central ridge catches light as the hand moves. There are no stones, no engraving and no shaping other than a slight lift as the band meets the claws. The gallery under the diamond is fully open so light reaches the pavilion from every direction.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. White gold, rhodium finished, gives the near invisible band shown in the photographs and makes the diamond read a shade whiter. Yellow gold turns the same thin band into a warm outline. Rose gold is the softest of the three. Every metal is hallmarked and every carat weight is available in every metal.

Is the centre stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined diamond and is graded on the same scale by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost with every order.

What is a knife edge band
The band is cut so it rises to a fine ridge down the centre instead of presenting a flat or round face. It uses less metal, looks thinner than it is, and reflects light along a single sharp line.

Is an ultra thin band strong enough
In 14K or 18K gold, yes for normal daily wear. For 4 and 5 carat centre stones we thicken the shank slightly under the head so the setting stays rigid, without changing the look from above. 925 sterling silver is softer and better suited to occasional wear.

Does a thin band make the diamond look bigger
Yes, noticeably. With less metal beside the stone there is nothing to give the eye a competing reference, so the same diamond reads larger than it would on a wide band.

Can I wear a wedding band beside it
Yes. The straight thin shank lets any band sit flush on either side, and the contrast between a thin engagement band and a wider wedding band is a popular pairing.
