A round brilliant lab grown diamond is held by six slim claws rather than the usual four, evenly spaced around the girdle. Six claws hold a large stone more securely, spread the pressure across more of the girdle and make a round read as rounder from above because no single claw dominates the outline. The band is a fine polished wire with nothing set into it. It is the traditional solitaire, executed the way most jewellers would choose for a stone of this size.

Band details

The shank is a fine polished round wire, free of stones and engraving, keeping a consistent width the whole way round. That makes it easy to resize, comfortable in daily wear and unlikely to snag. The gallery below the stone is open so the diamond is lit from underneath as well as from above, which is where much of a round brilliant sparkle comes from.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Yellow gold gives the warm traditional look shown in the photographs. White gold, rhodium finished, makes the diamond read a shade whiter and is the closest match to platinum. Rose gold gives a softer contemporary feel. Every metal is hallmarked and every carat weight is available in every metal.

Is the centre stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined diamond and is graded on the same scale by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost with every order.

Six claws or four
Six claws hold a large stone more securely and make a round look rounder. Four claws show slightly more of the stone and give a squarer outline. We can make either at the same price, just tell us at checkout.

Will a fine band hold a large stone
In 14K or 18K gold, yes. For 4 and 5 carat centre stones we thicken the shank slightly under the head so the setting stays rigid, without changing the look from above.

Why is a round brilliant the brightest cut
Its facet angles were calculated specifically to return the maximum amount of light back to the eye, which is why it has been the most popular engagement ring shape for a century.

Can I wear a wedding band beside it
Yes, and this is the easiest setting for it. The straight plain shank lets any band sit flush on either side with no gap.
