This is the ring most people picture when they think of an engagement ring. A round brilliant lab grown diamond is held in four fine claws set at the compass points, raised just far enough above the finger for light to reach the pavilion from every angle. The shank is a slim polished band with nothing set into it and no shaping beyond a gentle taper as it approaches the head. There is no halo, no pave and no side stones, because none of them would make the diamond look better than it does on its own. If you want one ring that will look correct in forty years, this is it.

Band details

The shank is a slim round wire finished to a high polish, tapering very slightly as it rises to meet the claws. It carries no stones and no engraving, which makes it the lightest and most comfortable band we offer, the easiest to resize and the least likely to snag. The gallery below the stone is left open so the diamond is lit from underneath as well as from above.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Yellow gold gives the warm traditional look shown in the photographs. White gold, rhodium finished, makes the diamond read a shade whiter and is the closest match to platinum. Rose gold gives a softer contemporary feel. Every metal is hallmarked and every carat weight is available in every metal.

Frequently asked questions

Is the centre stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined diamond and is graded on the same scale by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost with every order.

Four claws or six
Four claws show more of the stone and give a squarer outline. Six claws hold a large stone more securely and make a round look rounder. We can make either at the same price, just tell us at checkout.

Will a slim band bend
In 14K or 18K gold, no. For 4 and 5 carat centre stones we thicken the shank slightly under the head so the setting stays rigid without changing the look from above.

Can I wear a wedding band beside it
Yes, and this is the easiest setting for it. The straight plain shank lets any band sit flush on either side with no gap.
