A round brilliant lab grown diamond held in six squared claws, raised on cathedral shoulders above a plain polished band. Six claws finished as flat squares rather than rounded tips is an unusual combination and it changes the whole character of a classic solitaire. Instead of six soft points curling over the crown you get six small blocks of metal set at even intervals, drawing a hexagonal rhythm around the circle of the stone. The cathedral arches beneath lift the head clear of the finger, which lets light travel under the pavilion from both sides and gives the ring a defined profile from every angle. Metal options

Squared claws are a metal detail rather than a stone one, so they show most clearly in yellow or rose gold where six blocks of colour sit against the diamond. White gold softens them into the outline of the stone. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and keeps square claw edges crisp for longer.

What is a cathedral setting?
A setting where the shoulders of the band rise up in arches to meet the head, the way a cathedral arch rises to meet a vault. It lifts the stone, adds strength, and gives the ring a distinctive profile from the side.

What are squared claws?
Claws finished with a flat square top rather than a rounded tip. They hold the stone identically but read as small geometric blocks against the round outline, which gives a classic six claw solitaire a more architectural look.

Does the raised head catch on things?
A cathedral sits higher than a low set ring, so it is slightly more noticeable in gloves or pockets. In exchange it is easier to clean underneath and lets more light through the stone.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
Yes. The arches rise only at the head, so the shank where a wedding band meets it stays straight and plain.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
