Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. With no accent stones the metal is the only other decision in the design. Yellow gold is the traditional choice for this style, white gold makes the claws recede so the diamond appears to float, rose gold gives a warmer modern reading. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and keeps a plain polished band free of dents for longer.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the six claw solitaire so common?
Because it solves the problem well. Six points share the pressure around the girdle, the open gallery lets light through the pavilion, and nothing else on the ring competes with the stone. Every other solitaire design is a variation on it.

Why does the band taper?
A narrowing shank draws the eye upward toward the head and makes the diamond look larger by comparison. It also puts less metal directly beside the stone, which keeps the outline clean.

Rounded or squared claws, does it matter?
Only visually. Rounded claws follow the circle of the stone and disappear more readily, squared ones read as four or six deliberate geometric marks. Both hold equally well.

Is this easy to pair with a wedding band?
Yes, it is the easiest of all. The shank is plain and straight where the band meets it, so any wedding ring sits flush without a shaped notch.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
