From above it appears to be a plain solitaire, nothing more, and the halo is invisible. Turn the hand and a full collar of small diamonds appears beneath the centre stone, wrapping the base of the setting in light. That is the whole appeal of a hidden halo. Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. On a fine band the metal is a thin line rather than a mass, so the colour reads as an outline around the stone. Yellow gold draws that outline warmly, white gold makes the band nearly disappear so the diamond seems to float. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K, which matters on a narrow shank that carries all the structural load.

Frequently asked questions

Will anyone actually see the hidden halo?
From directly above, no, which is the point. From any side angle it is clearly visible as a bright ring of small diamonds under the centre stone. The wearer sees it constantly.

Does a hidden halo make the ring look bigger?
Not in the way a visible halo does, because it does not widen the outline seen from above. What it does is lift the centre stone off the band, which lets more light travel underneath and makes the diamond look brighter and better presented.

Why keep the band plain rather than pave?
Because a pave band competes with the halo for attention. Leaving the shank fine and polished means the only decorative element on the ring is the halo, which is what gives the design its quietness.

Is a fine band strong enough for daily wear?
Yes, at the thicknesses we make. If you are particularly hard on jewellery we can add half a millimetre to the shank at no extra cost, which is invisible but noticeably more rigid. Just ask before ordering.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.

How long does it take to make?
