Buyers often want the clean rectangular outline of an emerald cut but find its step cut faceting too subdued, and the radiant is precisely that compromise. It keeps the rectangle and the cropped corners, but the pavilion is faceted like a brilliant, so it returns light in bright fine flashes rather than broad quiet ones. Here it is kept deliberately simple. A narrow band, four claws, and a hidden halo doing the only decorative work, tucked underneath where it lifts the stone and shows mainly from the side. A radiant hides colour better than an emerald cut because its brilliant faceting breaks up light, so warm metals work here without the stone picking up tone the way a step cut would. Yellow gold gives a rich contemporary look, white gold the coolest read. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and protects the cropped corners better over time.

Frequently asked questions

What is a radiant cut?
A hybrid shape with the rectangular outline and cropped corners of an emerald cut, but faceted underneath like a brilliant. You get a geometric silhouette that still sparkles like a round.

Radiant or emerald cut, which should I choose?
They share an outline but not their behaviour in light. Choose the emerald cut if you want broad calm flashes and a very clean architectural look. Choose the radiant if you want that same rectangular shape with far more sparkle. The radiant is also more forgiving of small inclusions.

Why cropped corners?
The corners of a rectangle are the thinnest and most chip prone part of a stone. Cropping them removes that weak point and gives the claws a flat surface to grip, which is why both radiant and emerald cuts are made this way.

What is a hidden halo?
A ring of small diamonds set around the base of the centre stone, facing outward rather than upward. From above you see the radiant alone. From the side it reads as a bright collar beneath the stone.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.

How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days, plus shipping time to your address.
