A pear cut lab grown diamond set point up in six claws on a thin plain band. There is no halo, no pave and no side stone. A pear is already an unusual outline, and putting anything else on the ring only competes with it, so this design gives the stone a bare polished wire to sit on and nothing more. Worn with the point towards the fingernail it visibly lengthens the finger.

Band details

The shank is a thin plain polished round band with no stones anywhere on the ring. We thicken the wall under the setting so it stays strong beneath the stone while the visible band stays narrow.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Yellow gold gives the warm minimal look shown in the photographs. Rose gold reads softer. White gold, rhodium finished, makes the band almost vanish so the teardrop shape carries the ring on its own. Every metal is hallmarked and every carat weight is available in every metal.

Is the centre stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined diamond and is graded on the same scale by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost with every order.

Will the point chip
The point is the thinnest part of any pear, which is why we always fit a V shaped claw that wraps it completely. With that protection a pear is entirely suitable for daily wear.

Which way should the point face
Most people wear it facing the fingernail because it lengthens the finger. We can set it the other way at no extra cost.

Do pear cuts show a bow tie
Poorly proportioned ones do, which is a dark band across the centre. We select stones cut to avoid it and check every one by hand before setting.

Can I wear a wedding band beside it
Yes. The straight shank sits flush against a plain band. Because the point extends up the finger rather than out to the sides, there is no overhang.

How long does it take to make
Made to order rings usually leave our workshop within 10 to 14 working days. We confirm the date by email once your size is set.
