On most accented pear rings the side stones sit level with the middle of the stone and the belly is left bare, so the widest part of the diamond has no support and the outline looks unbalanced. Band details

The shank does not run in a straight line. It bends gently on each shoulder the way a stem does, and the round accents are placed on the outside of each bend where the light catches them first. Below the accents the band returns to plain polished metal, which keeps the ring easy to resize and comfortable to wear.

Why put the accents at the shoulders rather than the sides?
The broad end of a pear is the widest part of the stone and usually the least supported visually. Placing accents there balances the outline and stops the shape looking top heavy on the finger.

Why leaf shaped accents?
A leaf tapers, so it follows the curve of the pear rather than cutting across it. Round accents in the same position would create a hard edge where the shapes meet.

Is the point of the pear protected?
Yes. A V shaped claw wraps over the point and shields it, which is standard on every pear we set.

What is a hidden halo?
