Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond? Yes. A lab grown diamond has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. The only difference is that it is grown in a laboratory rather than extracted from the earth. It is graded by the same laboratories using the same criteria.

What color and clarity are the diamonds in this ring? Both the pear cut center stone and the hidden halo accents are E color and VVS2 clarity. E is in the colorless range, and VVS2 means inclusions are very difficult to see even under ten times magnification, so the stones are completely eye clean.

What is a hidden halo? A hidden halo is a ring of small diamonds set around the base of the center stone, facing outward rather than upward. From above the ring reads as a plain solitaire. From the side, and to the person wearing it, there is an extra line of light under the stone.

Does a hidden halo make the stone look bigger? Not from directly above, because it sits below the girdle. What it does is lift the stone visually and add brightness at the profile, which is where a solitaire usually looks plainest.

Is the point of a pear cut fragile? The point is the most exposed part of any pear, which is why a prong sits directly over the tip. Worn normally the stone is as durable as any other cut, since a lab grown diamond has the same hardness as a mined one.
