A pear cut lab grown diamond held in five claws on a band pave set two thirds of the way around. Five is an unusual claw count and it exists because a pear is not symmetrical. Three claws gather at the tapered point to shield it from every angle and two hold the rounded end, so the grip matches the shape of the stone instead of forcing a four point pattern onto it. The pave stops before it reaches the back of the shank, which leaves the underside as plain metal. That is deliberate. Plain metal against the palm is more comfortable, easier to resize later, and it means no diamonds sit where they would be rubbed by daily wear. Because the pave stops two thirds of the way around, there is a clear transition from diamond to plain metal on each side, and a warm metal makes that transition visible while white gold hides it. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and holds shared claw pave more securely.

Frequently asked questions

Why five claws on a pear?
Because a pear has two different ends. Three claws cluster at the narrow point where the stone is most fragile and two hold the wide rounded end, so the setting follows the shape rather than fighting it.

Why is the pave only two thirds of the way around?
The back of the shank sits against the palm and takes the most wear. Leaving it plain makes the ring more comfortable, protects the stones, and keeps resizing straightforward, since a jeweller can cut and rejoin plain metal without disturbing any settings.

Which way should the point face?
Most people wear the point toward the fingernail, which lengthens the finger. It can be set the other way or east to west across the finger if you prefer, at no extra cost.

Does the carat option include the pave?
No. The carat you choose is the weight of the pear centre only. The pave diamonds are additional at every carat weight.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
