Pear and Princess Cut Lab Grown Diamond Toi et Moi Ring

Two lab grown diamonds set side by side on a single continuous shank, a pear tilted so its point angles down and away, and a princess cut sitting square beside it. This is the only two stone ring we make that pairs a curve with a true right angle. Every other toi et moi in the collection combines two rounded or two pointed shapes, and they sit together smoothly. Here a soft pear meets a sharp cornered square, and the two refuse to blend. The pear reads as flowing and the princess as architectural, and the join between them is the whole point of the design rather than something to be disguised. Both stones are claw set close together on a slim plain band, with no halo under either. E colour, VVS2 clarity, free IGI certificates. Made to order in Surat in ten metals and four carat weights.

Band details

A slim plain band of even width running unbroken around the finger, rising only where it meets the two settings. No stones, engraving or milgrain.

Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Because the shank is plain and slim, almost all of the visual weight sits in the two stones. Yellow and rose gold warm the claws and draw a line between the pair. White gold and sterling silver make the setting recede so the contrast between the two shapes reads most sharply.

Frequently asked questions

What does toi et moi mean?
French for you and me. Two stones set together to represent two people, a design associated with Napoleon's proposal to Josephine and heavily revived in recent years.

How is this different from your other toi et moi rings?
The shape pairing. The others combine pear with marquise, emerald, radiant or oval, all of which are curved or pointed. This is the only one with a princess cut, so a square with sharp corners sits directly against a curve.

Are the corners of a princess cut vulnerable?
The corners are the thinnest part of any princess, which is why each one is held inside a claw here rather than left standing proud.

Do the two stones have to be the same carat weight?
Not necessarily. As shown they are closely matched, but we can make one noticeably larger than the other if you prefer. Tell us in the order notes.

Can I wear a wedding band with it?
Yes. The shank is slim and straight, so a plain band sits flush beside it.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
