An oval cut lab grown diamond in a four claw head with a hidden halo underneath, set on a wide band that domes gently across its surface and narrows as it rises to meet the stone. The band is the point of difference here. Most oval solitaires sit on a slim shank so the stone dominates completely. This one uses a broad rounded shoulder instead, which gives the oval a solid base to sit on and makes the whole ring read as substantial rather than delicate. The dome also means light rolls across the metal as your hand moves, so the plain gold does some of the work the pave does on other designs. A wide domed band shows more metal than any other shank shape, so the colour choice changes this ring more than most. Yellow and rose gold make it read warm and solid, white gold keeps it cool and modern. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and holds a polished dome free of scratches for longer.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose a wide band?
It balances a large centre stone. On a slim shank a 4 or 5 carat oval can look top heavy, whereas a broad domed shoulder gives the eye something to rest on and makes the proportions feel intentional. It is also more comfortable across the finger than a thin wire.

What is a hidden halo?
A ring of small diamonds set around the base of the centre stone facing outward. From above you see only the oval. From the side it shows as a bright collar underneath.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
Against a wide domed shank a straight band sits neatly but the widths will differ. Many customers pair this with a wider plain band to match, and we can make one to the same profile on request.

Does an oval look bigger than a round of the same weight?
Generally yes. An oval spreads its weight across a longer surface, presenting more face up area than a round of identical carat, and the elongated outline flatters the finger.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
