An oval cut lab grown diamond above a hidden halo, on a band carrying single round diamonds set at wide intervals rather than in a continuous row. This is station setting, sometimes called distance pave, and it is the opposite instinct to a fully set band. Each accent sits alone with a clear run of polished metal on either side, so it reads as a distinct point of light rather than part of a line. The spacing keeps the band looking slim and uncluttered, makes it far easier to clean than dense pave, and puts all the concentrated brilliance at the head where the hidden halo sits. Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Station setting is defined by the metal between the stones, so the colour is genuinely part of the pattern here rather than a background to it. Yellow and rose gold make each accent read as a separate bright point against warm metal, white gold makes the intervals less obvious. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and holds individually set accents more securely.

Frequently asked questions

What is station setting?
Individual diamonds set at intervals along a band with visible polished metal between them, rather than packed into a continuous row. It is also called distance pave. The gaps are the design, not an absence of one.

Is it easier to look after than pave?
Considerably. Fewer settings and open metal between them means far fewer places for everyday residue to collect, and each stone can be cleaned around individually.

What is a hidden halo?
A ring of small diamonds set around the base of the centre stone facing outward. From above you see only the oval. From the side it shows as a bright collar underneath.

Does an oval look bigger than a round of the same weight?
Generally yes. An oval spreads its weight across a longer surface, presenting more face up area than a round of identical carat, and the elongated outline flatters the finger.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.

How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days, plus shipping time to your address.
