An oval cut lab grown diamond held in a full bezel, on a band set with marquise and round diamonds alternating along both shoulders. Two ideas are working together here. The bezel gives the centre stone a hard continuous metal outline with no claws interrupting it, which is the cleanest and most secure way to set a stone. The accent band then breaks that severity by alternating two shapes, a pointed marquise then a round, then a marquise again, so the shoulders have a rhythm rather than a uniform line. Alternating shapes is a detail borrowed from antique jewellery and it is what keeps a bezel design from reading as austere. Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. A bezel puts metal in direct contact with the whole edge of the centre stone, so metal colour affects the diamond more here than in a claw setting. White gold keeps the oval reading completely colourless. Yellow and rose gold cast a warm outline and make the alternating accents stand out individually. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and resists denting on a bezel rim.

Frequently asked questions

Why alternate marquise and round accents?
Two shapes create a repeating rhythm along the shoulders instead of a uniform row. The pointed marquise stones also echo the curve of the oval centre, so the band relates to the head rather than simply supporting it.

Is a bezel setting more secure than claws?
Yes. The stone is held around its entire circumference rather than at four or six points, with nothing that can bend or snag. It is the setting jewellers recommend for anyone hard on their hands.

Does a bezel hide part of the diamond?
The rim covers the outer edge, but it also adds a bright metal outline that extends the visible shape, so most people find the head reads as large or larger overall. The gallery beneath is left open so light still enters from below.

Is it easy to clean?
The bezel itself is very easy, with no crevices under prongs. The accent stones need occasional attention with a soft brush, and we include lifetime cleaning.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.
