A marquise cut lab grown diamond set north to south in six claws, on a slim flat band. A marquise has the largest face up area of any common cut, so for the same carat weight it looks larger than a round, an oval or a cushion, and it stretches the finger more than any of them. Set on a plain flat shank with no accents anywhere, the outline is left to do all the work.

Band details

The shank is a slim flat band rather than a rounded wire, which gives the ring a squarer, more architectural profile from the side. There are no stones on the band. The inner edge is rounded for comfort and the section is thickened under the setting.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Yellow gold gives the warm finish shown in the photographs and defines the flat band edge crisply. Rose gold reads softer. White gold, rhodium finished, keeps everything colourless so the long outline of the marquise dominates. Every metal is hallmarked and every carat weight is available in every metal.

Yes. A lab grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined diamond and is graded on the same scale by the same laboratories.

Its weight is spread along a long shallow outline rather than into depth. For the same carat weight a marquise presents the largest face up area of any standard cut, which is why it is the value choice for anyone who wants visible size.

Are the points fragile
Both ends are the thinnest part of the stone. Each sits inside a V shaped claw that wraps it completely, which is why we use six claws rather than four on this design.

What is a bow tie
A dark band across the centre of an elongated stone caused by uneven light return. We select marquise stones cut to avoid it and check each one by hand before setting.

Can I wear a wedding band beside it
Yes. The flat straight shank sits perfectly flush against a flat band, which is one reason we use a flat profile here rather than a round wire.

How long does it take to make
