A marquise cut lab grown diamond is claw set with both points protected, over a basket wrapped in micro pave that works as a hidden halo. Below the head the shank twists like a length of rope, and micro pave follows that twist so the line of diamonds spirals rather than running straight. It is a difficult band to set well, because each stone has to sit at a slightly different angle to follow the curve, and it is what turns a simple marquise solitaire into something with movement.

Band details

The shank is formed into a twist, and a line of micro pave diamonds is set along the raised edge so the sparkle follows the spiral around the finger. Each stone is angled individually to sit flush with the curve. The back of the band is left plain and rounded so the ring stays comfortable and can be resized without disturbing the pattern.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Rose gold gives the warm blush tone shown in the photographs and suits the rope motif particularly well. Yellow gold gives a more traditional reading. White gold, rhodium finished, turns the twist into a cool architectural line. Every metal is hallmarked and every carat weight is available in every metal.

Is the centre stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined diamond and is graded on the same scale by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost with every order.

Does a marquise make the finger look longer
Yes. Of all the diamond shapes, the marquise has the greatest length for its carat weight, so it elongates the finger more than any other cut.

Will the pave on a twisted band come loose
No. Each stone is set individually at the angle of the curve and held by claws raised from the metal. We recommend a check every 12 to 18 months, which we do free of charge.

Are marquise points fragile
The two tips are the thinnest part of the stone, so each one sits under a prong that wraps over the point rather than beside it.

Can I wear a wedding band beside it
A straight band sits close at the base of the finger. Because the shank twists, a plain band gives the cleanest pairing. We can also make a matching twisted band.

How long does it take to make
