An emerald cut lab grown diamond with a pear cut diamond either side, on a band pave set the full length of both shoulders. The shape pairing is the interesting decision here. Most emerald cut trilogies use trapezoid or baguette sides, keeping everything step cut and rigidly geometric. Using pears instead sets a curved brilliant cut against a straight edged step cut, so the two behave completely differently in light. The emerald throws broad quiet flashes, the pears sparkle finely, and the contrast makes each more noticeable than a matched set of step cuts would. The points of the pears also carry the eye outward into the pave, which lengthens the whole head along the finger. E colour, VVS2 clarity throughout, free IGI certificate for the centre stone. The emerald cut is the colour sensitive element here because of its open table, so a white metal keeps it reading iciest. Yellow and rose gold warm the whole ring and suit the art deco character of a step cut centre. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and protects both the cropped corners and the pear points better.

Frequently asked questions

Why pear sides on an emerald cut?
Because they behave differently in light. A step cut centre gives broad calm flashes while brilliant cut pears sparkle finely, so each makes the other more visible. Matched trapezoid sides give a stricter, more uniformly art deco look, which we can also make.

Why does clarity matter more in an emerald cut?
Its large open table and few facets leave nowhere for an inclusion to hide. We set these at VVS2 so nothing is visible to the naked eye.

Does the carat weight include the side stones?
No. The carat option you choose is the weight of the centre emerald cut only. The pear sides and pave are additional and scale in proportion.

Does an emerald cut look bigger for its weight?
Usually yes. It spreads its weight across a longer, wider outline, so it presents more surface area face up than a round of the same carat.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
