Elongated Cushion Cut Lab Grown Diamond Ring in White Gold with a Concealed Halo

An elongated cushion cut lab grown diamond held by four slim claws over a concealed halo, on a fine white gold band with no stones on it at all.

An elongated cushion is a different stone from the square cushion most people picture. The square version is symmetrical in both directions, so its crushed ice sparkle scatters evenly and it reads as a soft glowing block. Stretch the outline and the internal facets stretch with it, which lines the scatter up along one axis and produces broader flashes running down the length of the stone rather than an even shimmer across it. That is why elongated cushions look brighter than their square counterparts at the same colour grade, and it is also why they suit a completely plain band. There is already a strong directional pattern in the stone, and adding accents along the shank would set up a second line competing with it. The shank is left as a fine unbroken wire so nothing argues with the length of the diamond.

Band details

The shank is a fine round wire running straight into the base of the basket, plain and polished the whole way round. Its thinness is what allows the elongated outline of the cushion to be read clearly against the finger.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. White gold is shown in the photographs, where the claws almost disappear against the stone and the concealed halo is the only place metal and diamond are separated by a visible edge.
