An elongated cushion cut lab grown diamond in four claws, flanked by a pear cut diamond on each side, on a plain polished band. The choice of pear side stones rather than the usual trapezoid or round is what makes this ring work. A pear has a point and a curve, so setting one either side with the points facing outward creates a shape that flows away from the centre stone rather than stopping abruptly at a straight edge. The soft corners of the elongated cushion continue into the curve of each pear, and the result reads as one wide sweeping form rather than three separate stones in a row. A pear cut lab grown diamond sits on each side of the centre, claw set with the point facing outward along the finger. The carat weight quoted is for the centre stone; the side stones are scaled proportionally so the ring stays balanced at every size. The band is plain polished metal with no stones set into it.

What does a three stone ring mean?
Traditionally the three stones stand for past, present and future. Practically, side stones widen the face of the ring and add carat weight without the cost of a single larger centre.

Why pear side stones?
Because they flow. A pear has a curved shoulder and a point, so the shape carries the eye outward from the centre rather than stopping at a hard edge the way a trapezoid does. Against the soft corners of a cushion cut it makes the whole head read as one form.

What is an elongated cushion cut?
