An elongated cushion cut lab grown diamond is held in four claws with a single tapered baguette lying against each shoulder, and nothing else. Below the baguettes the band is completely bare polished metal, wide enough to feel substantial and narrow enough to stay out of the way.

The taper angle on those baguettes is a calculated number rather than a style choice. A tapered baguette has to bridge two widths: the width of the cushion where it meets the setting, and the width of the shank where it leaves the shoulder. If the taper is too steep the stone runs out of width before it reaches the band and leaves a visible step in the outline. If it is too shallow the stone reads as a plain rectangle and the eye sees three separate objects rather than one tapering line. The correct angle is the one that makes the outer edge of the baguette continue the line of the shank exactly, so that the profile from the tip of the band to the girdle of the centre stone is a single unbroken silhouette. Because the shank width changes with ring size, so does the taper, which is why these are cut to order rather than picked from a tray.

Band details

The shank is left entirely plain below the baguettes with a softly domed outer face. A bare band beside two step cut sides is a deliberate restraint: the only three points of interest are the centre stone and its two flanking stones, and there is nothing anywhere else on the ring to divide attention.

Choose 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Every metal is fully hallmarked. Yellow gold is shown in the photographs, where the warm shank makes the cool white line of the baguettes read as a continuation of the diamond rather than as part of the band.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It is carbon in the same crystal structure as a mined diamond, with the same hardness and the same optical properties, graded on the same scales.

Does the ring come with a certificate

What is an elongated cushion
A cushion cut with a length to width ratio above about 1.20, so it reads as a soft cornered rectangle rather than a square. It covers more of the finger than a square cushion of the same weight.

Why baguettes rather than rounds
Because a baguette is a straight edged stone and it can follow the straight line of the shank exactly. A round would leave a curve where the design wants a line.

Are the baguettes secure
Yes. Each sits in a channel seat with the outer corners covered, which is the standard way to protect the corners of a step cut side stone.

Can this ring be resized
Yes. The band is plain, so resizing does not disturb any setting. Very large changes may alter how the taper meets the shank, and we will tell you if that applies.

How long does the ring take to make
Each ring is made to order. Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days before dispatch.
