An elongated cushion cut lab grown diamond in four claws, with the band splitting into two arms as it approaches the head and two separate rows of pave hidden beneath the stone. The split shoulder is doing structural work, not just decoration. As the shank nears the head it divides, and the two arms rise to meet the basket from either side rather than a single thick post carrying the load. That spreads the weight of a large centre stone across a wider footprint, which matters at 4 or 5 carat, and it leaves an open window between the arms that light passes through. Inside that space sit two rows of pave, one wrapping the basket directly under the cushion and a second running along the bridge below it. From the front the ring is a clean solitaire. Band details

A polished band that divides into two arms as it rises toward the head, meeting the basket from either side and leaving an open space between them. Two rows of pave sit beneath the centre stone, one in the basket and one along the bridge below. The lower shank is plain and unbroken.

What is a split shoulder?
The band divides into two arms before it reaches the head, so the stone is supported from both sides rather than by one central post. It spreads the load of a large stone and creates an open space beneath it.

What is a double hidden halo?
Two separate rows of small diamonds set beneath the centre stone. The upper row wraps the basket directly under the cushion, the lower row runs along the bridge between the split arms. Neither is visible from above.

Is a split shoulder stronger?
For a large centre stone, generally yes. Two arms distribute stress over a wider area of the shank than a single junction does, which reduces the chance of the head working loose over years of wear.

What is an elongated cushion cut?
