An elongated cushion is a cushion cut stretched along one axis, and the change does more than lengthen the outline. The extra length gives the pavilion facets a longer run, which produces broader and slower flashes than a square cushion of the same weight, and it makes the stone sit along the finger rather than across it, which is why elongated shapes flatter the hand. Setting it in white claws on a gold band is a colour decision rather than a stylistic one. Warm metal touching a colourless diamond reflects a faint yellow cast into it through the girdle and the claw tips, and on a stone this large that cast is visible. White metal at the four contact points removes it, so the diamond keeps its E colour appearance while the band remains gold against the skin. The band itself is left completely plain, because a stone of this spread needs nothing beside it.

Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behaviour as a mined diamond and is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Why are the claws a different colour to the band
White metal at the points of contact stops the warm band reflecting into the diamond, so the stone reads whiter.

Will the white gold claws need replating
White gold is rhodium plated and the plating wears with time. We replate free of charge whenever the ring is sent in for cleaning.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, easily. The band carries no stones.

How long does the ring take to make
Each ring is made to order. Two tone construction adds a step, so allow fourteen to eighteen working days before dispatch.
