An elongated cushion cut lab grown diamond held by four double tipped claws above a hidden halo, on a plain polished band. Each claw splits into two fine points where it meets the stone, so the ring grips at eight places rather than four while using no more metal than a standard head. That matters on a cushion. Its corners are gently rounded rather than sharp, which means a single broad claw tends to sit awkwardly across the curve, while two narrow points follow it cleanly and hold more securely. Seen from above the doubled tips also make a decorative detail of what is usually just structure. E colour, VVS2 clarity throughout, free IGI certificate for the centre stone. Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. A cushion has larger facets than a round brilliant and can pick up warmth from surrounding metal, so white gold keeps it reading coolest. Yellow and rose gold lean into the antique character of the shape. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K, which is worth having on split claw tips because they are finer than solid ones.

Frequently asked questions

What is a double tipped claw?
Each claw divides into two fine points at the stone rather than ending in one solid tip. It holds at eight places instead of four while covering less of the diamond, and it suits the rounded corners of a cushion better than a single wide claw.

Is it more secure than a normal claw?
More points of contact generally means a more stable setting, yes. The trade off is that each tip is finer, so we recommend the annual check we provide free for life, as with any claw setting.

What is the difference between a cushion and an elongated cushion?
A standard cushion is roughly square with rounded corners. An elongated cushion is stretched into a rectangle while keeping those soft corners, so it runs along the finger and has a slimming effect the square version does not.

What is a hidden halo?
A ring of small diamonds around the base of the centre stone, facing outward instead of upward. From above you see only the cushion. From the side it reads as a bright collar underneath.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.

How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days, plus shipping time to your address.
