An elongated cushion cut lab grown diamond held in a full bezel, a continuous rim of metal wrapped around the entire edge of the stone, on a fine plain band. The bezel is the most protective setting there is, because no part of the girdle is exposed and there are no prongs to catch on clothing or hair. It also reads as quietly modern rather than traditional, since the metal outline becomes part of the design instead of disappearing behind the stone. Every diamond is a laboratory grown diamond, identical in carbon structure, hardness and brilliance to a mined diamond, graded E colour and VVS2 clarity. Each ring is made to order in our own Surat workshop and ships with a free IGI certificate for the centre stone.

What is a bezel setting

A bezel is a thin collar of metal that wraps around the entire outer edge of the diamond and holds it in place, instead of the small claws used in a prong setting. It sits flush, which makes it the most secure and lowest maintenance way to set a stone. It is the setting we most often recommend for people who work with their hands, wear gloves, or simply do not want to think about their ring.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond

Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale, the same refractive index and the same fire and brilliance as a mined diamond. The only difference is that it was grown in a controlled laboratory over a few weeks instead of underground over billions of years. No jeweller can tell the difference by eye, only specialist equipment reading growth patterns can separate the two.

Does a bezel make a diamond look smaller

A well made bezel does not. The rim adds a little to the overall outline, which can actually make the ring read slightly larger from a distance, but it does cover the very edge of the girdle. We keep the metal deliberately fine on this design so the diamond, not the frame, is what you see. If you want the maximum possible spread, a half bezel leaves the long sides open.

Does this ring come with a certificate

Yes. Every ring ships with a free IGI certificate for the centre stone. IGI is the International Gemological Institute, one of the largest independent diamond grading laboratories in the world. The certificate confirms the carat weight, the E colour grade, the VVS2 clarity grade and the laboratory grown origin. There is no extra charge for the certificate.

What is an elongated cushion cut

A cushion cut is a square or rectangular stone with rounded corners, named because the outline resembles a pillow. An elongated cushion is cut to a longer ratio rather than a true square, so it stretches along the finger the way an oval does while keeping the soft corners and the larger, more open facets that give cushions their warm, candlelit sparkle.

What does E colour VVS2 actually mean

E colour is the second highest grade on the diamond colour scale and sits inside the colourless range, so the diamond looks bright white with no warm or yellow tint. VVS2 means very very slightly included, the second highest clarity tier. Any inclusions are so small that a trained grader needs 10x magnification to find them and they are completely invisible to the naked eye.

Every piece is made to order, so nothing is pulled off a shelf. Production takes about 10 to 12 working days and shipping is 3 to 5 working days after that with tracked international courier. We accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of delivery on unworn pieces in original condition.
