A pear cut lab grown diamond is turned on its side and set east west, so its point runs across the finger rather than towards the fingertip. On each side a tapered baguette diamond runs at right angles to the centre stone, wide where it meets the head and narrowing as it reaches the shoulder, and behind those the shank continues as a fine line of micro pave. The combination of a rounded pear, straight step cut baguettes and a pave band gives the ring three different kinds of sparkle in one head, which is unusual in a design this restrained.

Band details

Behind the baguettes the shank carries a single row of micro pave diamonds set with shared claws, running along each shoulder and stopping before the base of the finger. The underside is plain and rounded, which keeps the ring comfortable and makes resizing straightforward. Because the baguettes sit flush against the centre stone there is almost no visible metal across the top of the ring.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. White gold, rhodium finished, gives the cool architectural look shown in the photographs and suits the straight lines of the baguettes. Yellow gold warms the design and outlines the pear clearly. Yes. A lab grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined diamond and is graded on the same scale by the same laboratories.

What does east west setting mean
The long axis of the stone runs across the finger instead of up and down it. On a pear it turns a familiar shape into something distinctly modern, and it makes the stone look wider on the hand.

What is a tapered baguette
A rectangular step cut diamond that is wider at one end than the other. Step cuts have long flat facets, so they give broad flashes of light rather than the small bright sparks of a brilliant cut.

Is the pear point protected
