An oval cut lab grown diamond turned sideways across the finger and held in a full bezel, a continuous rim of metal around the whole stone, on a slim plain band. There are no claws. The combination of an east west orientation and a bezel gives one of the most minimal engagement rings we make, a single unbroken oval of metal and light with nothing raised above it. Band details

The shank is a slim plain polished band with no accent stones. It meets the bezel at the narrow ends of the oval, so from the side the ring is a single flat line. The bezel is cut thin at the top edge to let as much light into the stone as possible.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Yellow gold gives the warm outlined look shown in the photographs and is the strongest choice for a bezel, since the rim becomes part of the design. Rose gold softens the outline. White gold, rhodium finished, makes the rim recede so the stone dominates. Every metal is hallmarked and every carat weight is available in every metal.

Is the centre stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined diamond and is graded on the same scale by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost with every order.

What does east west setting mean
It means the long axis of the stone runs across the finger rather than along it. The stone is unchanged, only the orientation of the setting is different.

Does a bezel make the diamond look smaller
The rim covers the very edge of the stone, but because it is polished metal it also reflects light and can make the outline read larger from a distance. On an oval the effect is usually to make the stone look wider.

Is this setting good for daily wear
It is one of the best. There are no claws to bend or snag, the stone sits low, and the girdle is completely protected by metal.

Can I wear a wedding band beside it
Yes. The band is straight and the bezel sits low, so a plain band sits flush on either side with no gap.

How long does it take to make
