East West Elongated Cushion Lab Grown Diamond Ring with Plain Wire Band

An elongated cushion cut lab grown diamond turned sideways across the finger, held in four claws on a plain wire band. There is no pave, no halo and no accent anywhere on the ring. Turning an already elongated stone east to west makes it span the full width of the finger, and putting it on the thinnest plain band we make leaves the eye nothing to look at but the stone.

Band details

The shank is a fine plain polished wire of even section all the way round, with no stones and no widening at the shoulders. The claws rise directly out of it and the basket beneath is kept low so the ring sits flat on the finger.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Rose gold gives the warm quiet finish shown in the photographs, which suits the softness of a cushion cut. Yellow gold reads more traditional. White gold, rhodium finished, makes the band recede so the stone appears to float across the finger. Every metal is hallmarked and every carat weight is available in every metal.

Is the centre stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined diamond and is graded on the same scale by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost with every order.

What does east west setting mean
The long axis of the stone runs across the finger rather than along it. The diamond is unchanged, only the orientation of the setting differs.

Who suits an east west setting
It reads bolder and more contemporary than a lengthways stone, and it is often chosen by people with shorter fingers, because a stone that spans the finger balances better than one that runs down it.

Is a wire band strong enough
Yes. The section is thickened out of sight beneath the setting where the load is carried. For 4 and 5 carat centres we recommend 14K or 18K gold rather than sterling silver.

Can I wear a wedding band beside it
Yes. The band is straight and even, so a plain band sits flush on either side. Because the stone is set sideways there is no overhang at the sides.

How long does it take to make
