A cushion cut lab grown diamond held in four claws, flanked on each side by a cluster of three round diamonds arranged in a triangle, on an otherwise plain band. The accents are not a row and not a pave line. Three stones sit together in a trefoil at each shoulder, one above and two below or the reverse depending on the angle, gathered tightly against the centre stone and then stopping completely so the rest of the shank stays bare polished gold. Grouping the accents rather than spreading them keeps all the added light concentrated at the head, which makes the cushion look set into a wider spread of diamond without the ring becoming busy further down the finger. E colour, VVS2 clarity throughout, free IGI certificate for the centre stone. Made to order in Surat in ten metals and four carat weights.

Because the accents stop at the shoulders, most of the band is plain metal and the colour carries the ring visually. Yellow and rose gold lean into the antique character the cushion already has, white gold merges the trefoils with the centre stone so the head reads as one wider spread of diamond. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and holds small clustered stones more securely.

What is a trefoil cluster?
Three stones grouped in a triangle rather than set in a line. Here one trefoil sits at each shoulder against the centre stone, which concentrates the accent light at the head instead of running it down the band.

How is this different from a pave shoulder?
Pave runs a continuous line of small stones along the shank. These clusters stop after three stones, leaving most of the band plain, so the ring reads as a solitaire with a widened head rather than a pave ring.

What is a cushion cut?
A square or slightly rectangular stone with rounded corners and gently curved sides, named for its resemblance to a pillow. It predates the modern round brilliant and returns light in broad soft flashes rather than fine sparkle.

Will a wedding band sit flush?
Yes, better than most accent rings, because the lower half of the shank is completely plain. A flat band rests cleanly against it.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
