A large cushion cut lab grown diamond set low in a compact basket with a concealed halo, on a band drawn down to a fine round wire.

The proportions are the whole point. A five carat cushion is a substantial object, and the usual response is to build a substantial ring around it, which produces something that feels heavy on the hand. Doing the opposite, reducing the shank to a plain round wire barely wider than a needle, makes the stone appear to hover. There is almost no metal to compete with it and no shoulder detail to draw the eye outward, so the diamond occupies the whole of the visual field between the knuckles. The head is kept as compact as the pavilion allows and set low rather than raised on a cathedral, which stops the ring from feeling top heavy on such a thin band. Inside the basket a single row of small diamonds runs around the wall under the girdle, so the profile has a line of light where a plain basket would show only a wall of metal.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behaviour as a mined diamond and is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Will such a thin band hold a large stone
Yes. The strength is in the basket, not the shank, and the head here is compact and low. If you would prefer more metal for peace of mind we will thicken the shank at no extra cost.

Why set the stone low rather than raised
A low head keeps the centre of gravity close to the finger so the ring does not tip on a fine band, and it catches on less.

What does the hidden halo add
A line of light around the base of the stone visible from the side, without widening the outline seen from above.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, easily. The band carries no stones.

How long does the ring take to make
Each ring is made to order. Allow fourteen to eighteen working days before dispatch.
