A large cushion cut lab grown diamond held in split double claws, with small diamonds set into the gallery arms beneath the stone, on a fine band carrying spaced round diamonds between polished bars.

Three separate ideas are at work and they are arranged so that each is visible from a different angle. From above the eye sees the cushion and almost nothing else, because the split claws divide into fine points that grip the corners without covering them. From the side the gallery appears, and it is not a plain wall but an openwork frame with a diamond set into each arm, so the part of the ring that normally does the structural work is decorated instead. From the front of the finger the band shows, with individual stones spaced along it and short polished bars between, catching light in separate points rather than a continuous line. Cushion cuts are large and soft in outline and can look heavy in a plain mount, so distributing small detail around the ring at three different levels keeps a five carat stone from dominating everything.

Band details

The band is fine, swelling at each station and returning to a slim bar between them. The back is plain and the inside is comfort rounded.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behaviour as a mined diamond and is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

What is a cushion cut
A square or slightly rectangular outline with rounded corners and curved sides, brilliant faceted underneath. It gives softer, larger flashes than a round.

What is a decorated gallery
The gallery is the open metalwork under the centre stone. Here each arm of it carries a small diamond, so the ring is finished on the surfaces that are only seen from the side.

Why split claws
Each claw divides into two fine points at the tip, which grips the rounded corner of a cushion securely while covering less of its outline than a single heavy prong.

Can this ring be resized
Yes. The back of the band is plain.

How long does the ring take to make
Each ring is made to order. The gallery setting adds time, so allow fourteen to eighteen working days before dispatch.
