A cushion has the softened corners and rounded sides of an antique cut with modern brilliant faceting underneath, so it throws broad rounded flashes rather than the fine pinpoint sparkle of a round brilliant, and that character is easiest to read when nothing else is competing for attention. The band is flat across the outside rather than rounded, which gives the ring a crisp modern line and lets it sit tight against a wedding band. E colour, VVS2 clarity, free IGI certificate. What is a cushion cut?
A square or slightly rectangular outline with rounded corners and curved sides, like a pillow. It combines the softened shape of an antique cut with modern brilliant faceting, which is why it gives broad rounded flashes rather than fine sparkle.

Is this cushion square or elongated?
Square. The length and width are close to equal, giving a compact chunky look. We also make elongated cushions, which are noticeably longer than they are wide.

Does this ring have any hidden detail?
No. The basket is plain and the band carries no stones. This is deliberately the most pared back version of a cushion solitaire we make.

Why a flat band instead of a rounded one?
A flat outer face gives a sharper more contemporary line and sits flush against a flat wedding band with no gap. A rounded band feels softer and more traditional. Both are available.

Are four claws enough for a large stone?
Yes, on a cushion. The claws sit over the four rounded corners, which are the strongest points of the outline, and hold securely even at 5 carats.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
