This is a cushion cut lab grown diamond reduced to its essentials. Four slim claws hold the stone at the corners inside an open basket, and the shank is the narrowest wire we work with, kept plain so that from most angles it barely registers against the finger. The proportions are the point. With so little metal in view, a cushion of any given carat weight looks appreciably larger here than it would in a wider setting, and the soft square outline of the cut is left entirely uninterrupted.

Band details

The shank is an ultra slim polished wire with no stones, no engraving and no shaping other than a slight rise where it meets the basket. The gallery under the cushion is completely open, so light enters the pavilion from below as well as from above, which is where much of a cushion cut sparkle comes from. The plain band makes resizing straightforward.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Yellow gold gives the warm minimal look shown in the photographs. White gold, rhodium finished, makes the fine band virtually disappear so only the diamond remains visible. Rose gold gives the softest reading against the skin. Every metal is hallmarked and every carat weight is available in every metal.

Is the centre stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined diamond and is graded on the same scale by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost with every order.

Will an ultra slim shank hold a large stone
In 14K or 18K gold, yes for normal daily wear. For 4 and 5 carat centre stones we thicken the shank slightly beneath the basket so the setting stays rigid, without changing the look from above. 925 sterling silver is softer and better suited to occasional wear.

Why choose a cushion cut
A cushion has a softer outline than a princess or radiant and a more open facet pattern than a round. It gives a dense crushed ice sparkle that shows particularly well in candlelight.

Does a thin band make the diamond look bigger
Yes, noticeably. With less metal beside the stone there is nothing to give the eye a competing reference, so the same diamond reads larger than it would on a wide band.

Can I wear a wedding band beside it
Yes. The straight thin shank lets any band sit flush on either side, and the contrast between a thin engagement band and a wider wedding band is a popular pairing.
