A cushion cut lab grown diamond inside a halo that is itself cushion shaped, square with softened corners, following the outline of the stone instead of rounding it into a circle. That is what makes the design work. A round halo placed around a cushion fights the shape and the whole head ends up looking like a badly fitted circle, whereas a cushion halo doubles the outline and the two read as one larger cushion on the finger. Pave continues down both shoulders so the light carries along the finger rather than stopping at the head. The result is the largest apparent spread of any cushion ring we make. Why does the halo shape matter on a cushion?
Because a cushion is a softened square. A round halo around it leaves awkward gaps at the corners and blurs the outline. A cushion shaped halo repeats the shape so the head reads as one larger cushion.

How much larger does it make the diamond look?
A halo typically adds the appearance of roughly half a carat to a carat depending on the size of the accent stones, without the cost of a larger centre stone.

What is a cushion cut?
A square or slightly rectangular outline with rounded corners and curved sides, like a pillow. It combines an antique shape with modern brilliant faceting, giving broad rounded flashes rather than fine pinpoint sparkle.

How is this different from your plain cushion solitaire?
That ring has no halo and no accent stones at all, on a plain flat band. This one adds a full cushion halo and pave shoulders, so it reads considerably larger and brighter on the finger.

Will the pave and halo stones need checking?
Bead set stones are secure but benefit from a check every year or two. Our lifetime pave and prong check covers this at no charge for as long as you own the ring.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.
