Frequently asked questions

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond? Yes. A lab grown diamond has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. The only difference is that it is grown in a laboratory rather than extracted from the earth. It is graded by the same laboratories using the same criteria.

What color and clarity are the diamonds in this ring? The emerald cut center stone and every accent are E color and VVS2 clarity. With three different accent shapes in one head, matching colour across them all is what keeps the design looking deliberate rather than assembled from odds and ends.

What is a fan halo? Instead of a continuous ring of stones, the accents are grouped into fan or crown shaped clusters that project from the top and bottom of the centre stone. It is a period device, common in the 1920s and 1930s, and it makes the head far taller on the finger than a conventional halo.

How large does this ring wear? Considerably larger than the centre carat weight alone. Because the fans extend the outline lengthwise rather than just widening it, the face of the ring covers most of the width of the finger even at the smaller carat options.
