The baguettes are step cut and colourless, set with their wide end against the bezel and tapering away, so they read as two shafts of white light leading the eye into the green rather than as competing sparkle. Side stones and band

A tapered baguette cut colourless lab grown diamond sits on each side of the emerald, wide end against the bezel and narrowing outward. The bezel is a continuous wall of metal enclosing the emerald on all four sides. The band is slim and plain with no further stones.

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. White gold and sterling silver, as photographed, keep the frame neutral so the green reads at full saturation. Rose gold gives strong complementary contrast against green and is the warmest option. Yellow gold sits closest to green on the colour wheel and can soften the stone, so we would suggest one of the others unless you specifically want that effect.

Frequently asked questions

Why bezel set an emerald?
Two reasons. Emerald is softer than diamond and more prone to chipping at the corners, and a bezel encloses those corners completely. It also frames the colour cleanly, without claws crossing the surface of the stone.

What is a tapered baguette?
A long rectangular step cut diamond that narrows along its length. Set beside a centre stone it draws the eye inward, which is why it has been the classic side stone for coloured gems since the Art Deco period.

How is emerald quality judged?
Almost entirely on colour. Strong, evenly saturated green matters more than clarity, and emeralds naturally contain inclusions that are expected rather than treated as flaws. This stone is eye clean, meaning nothing is visible without magnification.

What is a lab grown emerald?
An emerald grown in controlled conditions rather than mined. Same beryl chemistry, same hardness, same colour. Only the origin differs, and it avoids the sourcing questions around mined emerald.

Is an emerald durable enough for daily wear?
Softer than diamond and more prone to chipping, which is exactly why we have bezel set it. In this mount it is well suited to normal daily wear, though we would suggest removing it for heavy manual work.

Are the side stones diamonds?
Yes. Both baguettes are colourless lab grown diamonds, which is what gives the contrast against the green centre.
