A round brilliant lab grown diamond held in six broad petal shaped claws on a plain slim band. The claws are the whole idea. Instead of the narrow tapered talons used on most six claw settings, these are wide and softly rounded where they fold over the crown, and because there are six of them evenly spaced the head reads as an open flower with the diamond sitting at its centre. It is a warmer, more decorative shape than a standard claw, and it also covers slightly more of the crown, which makes the setting noticeably reassuring on a large stone. The band is left completely plain so nothing competes with the petal head. E colour, VVS2 clarity, free IGI certificate. Made to order in Surat in ten metals and four carat weights.

Metal options

Broad petal claws show more metal than fine ones, so the colour is a real part of the design here. Yellow and rose gold make the flower shape obvious against the diamond, white gold softens it into a bright frame. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and keeps a broad claw from flattening over time.

Frequently asked questions

What is a petal claw?
A claw shaped wide and rounded at the tip rather than drawn to a narrow point. Set six around a round diamond, the tips read as petals opening around the stone, which is where the name comes from.

Do broad claws hide part of the diamond?
They cover marginally more of the crown than fine claws do. In return they are far more robust and much less likely to bend or wear thin, which matters on a 4 or 5 carat stone.

Why six claws instead of four?
Six spreads the holding pressure more evenly around a circular girdle and keeps the outline of the round looking properly circular. Four claws can make a round appear very slightly squared.

Is this easy to pair with a wedding band?
Yes. The shank is plain and straight where a band meets it, with no pave to line up, and the head sits low enough that a flat band rests close against it.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
