A round brilliant lab grown diamond sits in a four claw head above a hidden halo of micro pave that wraps the whole basket. What sets this ring apart is everything below the head. The shoulders carry a row of pave diamonds bordered on both sides by fine milgrain beading, a technique from antique jewellery where the edge of the metal is worked into a row of tiny grains. Beneath the centre stone the shoulders cross in a shallow V and a further pave line runs along the crossover, so the ring has detail on every surface you can see from the side while staying completely clean from above.

Band details

The shank is set with micro pave diamonds along the top of each shoulder, framed by hand worked milgrain edges. Where the shoulders meet the head they divide into a shallow crossover, which is also pave set. The underside of the band is left plain and rounded for comfort. Milgrain is applied by hand with a knurling wheel, which is why no two rings carry an identical bead pattern.

Metal options

Choose 925 sterling silver with rhodium plating, or solid 10K, 14K or 18K gold in yellow, rose or white. Yellow gold is the traditional choice for milgrain work and gives the warm antique look shown in the photographs. White gold, rhodium finished, makes the beading crisper and more architectural. Rose gold gives the softest period feel. Every metal is hallmarked and every carat weight is available in every metal.

Is the centre stone a real diamond
Yes. A lab grown diamond is chemically, physically and optically identical to a mined diamond and is graded on the same scale by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the centre stone is included at no extra cost with every order.

What is milgrain
Milgrain is a row of tiny metal beads worked along the edge of a band. It comes from Edwardian and Art Deco jewellery and softens the line between metal and stone, giving a handmade antique appearance.

Does milgrain wear away
It wears very slowly and only on the outermost edge. In 14K or 18K gold it will still be clearly visible after decades of daily wear, and we can re-cut it during a service if you ever want it sharpened.

Can I wear a wedding band beside it
Yes. The base of the shank is straight, so a plain or milgrain band sits flush on either side. A matching milgrain band is the most popular pairing.
