Round Cut Lab Grown Diamond Cathedral Halo Ring with Pave Band

A round brilliant lab grown diamond inside a circular halo, carried on cathedral shoulders, with pave running down the band. The cathedral construction is what separates this from an ordinary halo ring. Instead of the halo sitting flat on top of a straight shank, the shoulders arch upward from the band and meet the underside of the halo, so from the side the ring rises in two curves to a raised head with an open space beneath it. Behind the stone the gallery is finished with a crossed bar that shows when the ring is turned over. Four claws hold the centre inside the halo, and the pave carries the light down both shoulders. E colour, VVS2 clarity throughout, free IGI certificate for the centre stone. Made to order in Surat in ten metals and four carat weights.

Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. A halo works by making the head read as one large area of diamond, so white gold hides the metal between the stones and maximises apparent size. Yellow and rose gold instead outline the halo and the cathedral arches warmly, which emphasises the architecture of the ring. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and holds halo and pave more securely.

Frequently asked questions

What is a cathedral setting?
Shoulders that arch upward from the band to meet the head, like the vaulted arches of a cathedral. They raise the stone and give the ring a defined side profile rather than a flat one.

How much bigger does a halo make the stone look?
Typically the head reads one to two carats larger than the centre stone measured alone. It is the most cost effective way to get presence on the hand.

Does a raised head catch more?
A cathedral head sits higher than a low solitaire, so it is slightly more exposed. If you want the halo lower we can reduce the arch on request.

Is there detail on the underside?
Yes. The gallery behind the stone is finished with a crossed bar, visible whenever the ring is turned over.

Will a wedding band sit flush?
Not completely, because the halo is wider than the shank and the shoulders arch. A contoured band solves this and we can shape one to match.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.
