A round brilliant lab grown diamond enclosed in a full rub over bezel, raised above an open crossed gallery, on a slim polished band. Most bezel settings sit the stone low and close the metal beneath it, which is what makes them so protective and also what makes them look solid. This one keeps the bezel but lifts it, and cuts the metal underneath into crossing supports so the space below the diamond is open rather than filled. Two things follow from that. Light reaches the pavilion from beneath rather than stopping at a closed back, so the stone stays livelier than a low bezel usually allows, and the underside becomes a piece of visible construction in its own right. Both the bezel rim and the crossed gallery are pure metalwork, so the colour is carrying more of this design than it would on a claw set ring. Yellow and rose gold show the gallery structure clearly, white gold quiets it and lets the stone dominate. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and resists denting on a bezel wall.

Frequently asked questions

What is an open gallery?
The metal beneath the setting is cut away into supports rather than left solid, so light reaches the underside of the stone and the structure is visible when the ring is turned. Here the supports cross beneath the bezel.

How is this different from your other bezel rings?
The bezel is raised on an open gallery rather than seated low and closed. That keeps the protection of a bezel while letting light in from below, and it gives the ring a taller, more constructed side profile.

Is a bezel more secure than claws?
Yes. A bezel grips the whole girdle at once rather than at four or six points, and there is nothing to bend, wear thin or catch on clothing.

Does a bezel make the diamond look smaller?
It covers the girdle edge, the least visible part of the stone. The table and crown stay completely open, so the trade is a little face up area for considerably more security.

Will a wedding band sit flush?
Yes, easily. The shank is plain and straight where a band meets it, with nothing protruding at the sides.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.
