A round brilliant lab grown diamond held in four claws on a cathedral setting with a plain polished band. The cathedral is the whole structure of this ring. Rather than the shank running straight into the head, the shoulders rise in two arches that sweep upward to meet the stone, the way a cathedral arch rises to meet a vault. Seen from the side it gives the ring a proper architectural profile instead of a flat line. Seen from above the arches are barely visible, so the diamond appears to sit on almost nothing. The band carries no stones at all, which keeps the shape of those arches completely legible. E colour, VVS2 clarity, free IGI certificate. A cathedral is a piece of metalwork rather than stonework, so the colour of the metal is what the design is actually made of. Yellow and rose gold show the arches most clearly against the light passing beneath them, white gold keeps them discreet. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and keeps fine arches rigid.

What is a cathedral setting?
A setting where the shoulders of the band rise up in arches to meet the head, the way a cathedral arch rises to meet a vault. It lifts the stone, adds strength to the setting, and gives the ring a distinctive profile from the side.

Does the raised head catch on things?
A cathedral sits higher than a low set ring, so it is slightly more noticeable in gloves or pockets. In exchange it is easier to clean underneath and lets more light through the stone.

Why four claws instead of six?
Four claws cross less of the crown, so more of the diamond is visible face up and the outline stays a clean circle. On a cathedral, where the arches already add visual structure, four claws keep the head itself simple.

Will a wedding band sit flush against it?
Yes. The arches rise only at the head, so the shank where a wedding band meets it stays straight and plain.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
