A round brilliant lab grown diamond surrounded by a halo of smaller rounds, the whole cluster held in a bezel that frames it as a single disc. Most halo rings set the centre in prongs and bead the halo around it, which leaves the outline broken up by claws. Bezelling the cluster instead draws one continuous rim around everything, so from a short distance the ring reads as one large circle of diamond rather than as a stone with a border. It is a design that wears far bigger than its centre stone, which is exactly what cluster settings were invented to do. Every diamond is a laboratory grown diamond, identical in carbon structure, hardness and brilliance to a mined diamond, graded E colour and VVS2 clarity. What is a halo cluster

A halo is a ring of small diamonds set around a larger centre stone. A cluster setting takes that idea further and treats the group as a single unit, so the centre and the halo together form one shape rather than a stone with a decorative border. It makes a ring look considerably larger than the centre stone alone, which is why the style has been used since Georgian jewellery.

Why bezel a halo

Because it closes the outline. A prong set halo has claws interrupting its edge, whereas a bezel wraps the whole cluster in one continuous rim, so the eye reads a single circle. It also protects the outer accents, which on a conventional halo are the stones most likely to catch and loosen.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond

Yes. A lab grown diamond is real diamond. It has the same carbon crystal structure, the same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale, the same refractive index and the same fire and brilliance as a mined diamond. The only difference is that it was grown in a controlled laboratory over a few weeks instead of underground over billions of years. No jeweller can tell the difference by eye, only specialist equipment reading growth patterns can separate the two.

How large does this ring wear

Noticeably larger than the centre stone by itself, because the halo adds diameter and the bezel rim adds a little more again. At the 2 carat option the ring already reads as a substantial cluster, and at 4 or 5 carats it is emphatic.

Is a cluster ring harder to clean

It has more settings than a plain solitaire, so it benefits from a more regular clean. Warm water, a drop of washing up liquid and a soft toothbrush is all it needs. The bezel actually helps here, because there are fewer exposed claws for dirt to collect behind.

Does this ring come with a certificate

Yes. Every ring ships with a free IGI certificate for the centre stone. IGI is the International Gemological Institute, one of the largest independent diamond grading laboratories in the world. The certificate confirms the carat weight, the E colour grade, the VVS2 clarity grade and the laboratory grown origin. There is no extra charge for the certificate.

What does E colour VVS2 actually mean

E colour is the second highest grade on the diamond colour scale and sits inside the colourless range, so the diamond looks bright white with no warm or yellow tint. VVS2 means very very slightly included, the second highest clarity tier. Any inclusions are so small that a trained grader needs 10x magnification to find them and they are completely invisible to the naked eye.

Why buy a lab grown diamond

A lab grown diamond gives you a materially identical stone for a fraction of the price of a mined equivalent, and on a cluster design that saving applies to every stone in the halo as well as the centre. Round brilliants are also the most expensive shape per carat when mined, because more rough is lost in cutting them than any other shape, so the saving is largest here. Because the origin of every stone is documented from the moment it is grown, a lab grown diamond is conflict free by definition.
