A round brilliant lab grown diamond in four claws on a fine plain band. From above there is nothing but the stone and a thread of gold. Turn the ring and a short vertical line of tiny pave diamonds appears, running up the gallery post where the basket meets the shank.

This is what a hidden halo becomes when it is reduced to the smallest thing that still works. A full concealed halo wraps the entire outer wall of the basket and needs thirty or forty stones to do it. A pave set gallery post uses five or six, set in a single column on the one part of the setting that is genuinely visible from the side at conversational distance, and leaves the rest of the basket bare. The saving is not only cost. Every stone added to the outside of a basket has to be set into metal that must then be thick enough to hold it, so a full halo forces the whole head to grow. Confining the pave to the post keeps the basket as slender as an unset one, so the ring stays low, the stone stays close to the finger, and the detail is there for anyone who looks from the side without announcing itself from above.

Band details

The shank is a fine polished wire left entirely plain, running into the base of the gallery post without shoulders. Because the head carries almost no extra metal, the ring sits low and a wedding band meets it without a gap.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It is carbon in the same crystal structure as a mined diamond, with the same hardness and the same optical properties, graded on the same scales.

Why not set a full hidden halo

Why is the round brilliant graded differently to other shapes
It is the only cut for which the major laboratories issue a full cut grade, because its symmetry can be measured against an agreed ideal.

Can this ring be resized
Yes, easily. The shank carries no stones, so resizing is done entirely in plain metal.
