Design & Selection
We finalise your design and hand-pick the certified center stone.
Save 20%An elongated radiant cut lab grown diamond flanked by two trapezoid cut diamonds, on a plain polished band. The side stones are the point of difference. Most trilogy rings use rounds or pears beside the centre, which leaves visible gaps of metal where the curves meet the straight edge of a rectangular stone. Trapezoids do not. Each one is cut with a long flat edge that sits directly against the side of the radiant and tapers outward toward the shoulder, so the three stones lock together into one continuous band of diamond with almost no metal showing between them. They are step cut, like an emerald cut, which means they return light in broad calm flashes and deliberately sit quieter than the brilliant faceted radiant they frame. E colour, VVS2 clarity throughout, free IGI certificate for the centre stone. Made to order in Surat in ten metals and four carat weights.
Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Because the three stones sit almost edge to edge, very little metal shows across the head and the colour reads mainly at the shoulders and claws. Yellow and rose gold give a warm outline around a solid block of diamond, white gold makes the three stones merge into a single bright bar. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and better protects the flat corners of step cut side stones.
Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. If you are unsure, measure the inside diameter of a ring you already wear or ask us for a free size guide before ordering.
We can use baguettes, half moons or tapered baguettes instead of trapezoids, add pave along the shoulders, or set a hidden halo beneath the centre stone. For any other customization request please contact us at https://mapplegems.com/pages/contact and we will quote it before you order.
What is a trapezoid cut?
A four sided step cut stone with two parallel edges, one longer than the other, so it tapers. Set with the long edge against a rectangular centre stone it fills the space beside it completely, which is why it is the natural partner for a radiant or emerald cut.
Why trapezoids instead of rounds?
Round side stones leave curved gaps where they meet a straight edged centre stone, and those gaps have to be filled with metal. A trapezoid has a flat edge that meets the radiant exactly, so the three stones read as one continuous run of diamond.
Do the side stones sparkle as much as the centre?
No, and that is intentional. They are step cut, so they give broad calm flashes rather than fine sparkle. The contrast is what makes the brilliant faceted radiant stand out between them.
What does a trilogy ring represent?
The three stones are traditionally read as past, present and future, which is why the style is chosen so often for engagements and milestone anniversaries.
Will a wedding band sit flush?
Yes, quite well. The band is plain and straight and the three stones sit in one low row, so a flat band rests against it cleanly.
Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.
A lab grown diamond gives the same hardness, brilliance and fire as a mined stone at a fraction of the price, which matters especially on a trilogy where three matched certified stones are needed rather than one. It is created without mining, so there is no excavation and no doubt about origin.
