A large radiant cut lab grown diamond held in a continuous rim of metal that wraps the whole girdle, on a fine plain band, with no claws anywhere on the ring.

A bezel is the oldest way of setting a stone and still the most secure. Instead of gripping the diamond at points, a collar of metal is raised around its full outline and burnished over the edge, so the stone is held along its entire perimeter rather than at four or six places. Nothing stands proud, nothing can snag on a sleeve, and the girdle, which is the most vulnerable part of any faceted stone, is completely protected. Bezels went out of fashion because a wide rim covers the outer edge of the diamond, and this one answers that by being cut as thin as the metal will safely allow and finished with a flat top face rather than a rounded one, so it reads as a fine drawn line around the stone rather than a heavy frame. On a rectangular shape the effect is architectural, because the rim repeats the outline exactly and turns the head into a single clean panel.

Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond
Yes. It has the same carbon crystal structure, hardness and optical behaviour as a mined diamond and is graded on the same scales by the same laboratories.

Does the ring come with a certificate
Yes. An IGI certificate for the center stone is included at no extra charge.

Is a bezel setting more secure than claws
Yes. The stone is held along its whole edge rather than at a few points, and there is nothing standing up to be knocked.

Does a bezel make the stone look smaller
A heavy one does. This rim is cut as thin as is safe and finished flat, so very little of the outline is covered.

Will the diamond still sparkle in a bezel
Yes. The back of the setting is open, so light enters the pavilion from underneath as it would in a claw setting.

Can this ring be resized
Yes. The band carries no stones.

How long does the ring take to make
Each ring is made to order. Bezel work on a large stone is exacting, so allow sixteen to twenty working days before dispatch.
