Step 1
Design & Selection
We finalise your design and hand-pick the certified center stone.
Save 20%A radiant cut lab grown diamond held in a trellis setting on a plain polished band. In a trellis the four claws do not rise straight up from the shoulders. They sweep across and interlace beneath the stone, crossing over one another in an X where they meet, so the underside of the ring becomes a piece of open metalwork rather than a plain basket. Almost nobody sees this from above and that is rather the point. It is a detail built for the person wearing it, visible when the ring is off the finger or turned in the light. Structurally the crossing arms also brace each other, which makes a trellis one of the stronger four claw settings for a large stone. E colour, VVS2 clarity, free IGI certificate. Made to order in Surat in ten metals and four carat weights.
Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. A trellis is metalwork rather than stonework, so the colour of the metal is what the design is made of. Yellow and rose gold show the crossing arms most clearly against the light passing through. White gold keeps them discreet. For daily wear 14K is harder than 18K and holds fine crossing claw arms more rigidly.
Every ring is made to your finger size, so choose your size at checkout. If you are unsure, measure the inside diameter of a ring you already wear or ask us for a free size guide before ordering.
We can add pave to the shoulders, set a hidden halo inside the trellis, widen the band, or set the radiant east to west across the finger. For any other customization request please contact us at https://mapplegems.com/pages/contact and we will quote it before you order.
What is a trellis setting?
A setting where the claws sweep in from the shoulders and interlace beneath the centre stone rather than rising straight from a basket. The crossing arms form an open lattice under the diamond, which is both a decorative detail and a structurally stiffer arrangement.
Can you see the trellis when the ring is worn?
Barely from above. It shows from the side and from underneath, so it is a detail for the wearer more than the viewer. That is the usual reason people choose it.
Is a trellis stronger than a normal four claw setting?
The crossing arms brace one another, so yes, it resists twisting better than four independent claws rising from a plain basket. It is a good choice for a large stone on a slim band.
What is a radiant cut?
A rectangular stone with cropped corners like an emerald cut, but faceted like a brilliant underneath. It gives the clean architectural outline of a step cut with the fine scattered fire of a round.
Is a lab grown diamond a real diamond?
Yes. Same carbon structure, hardness and brilliance as a mined diamond. Only the origin differs.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut grade and carat weight.
How long does it take to make?
Production usually takes ten to fourteen working days, plus shipping time to your address.
A lab grown diamond gives the same hardness, brilliance and fire as a mined stone at a fraction of the price, which is what makes a certified 4 or 5 carat radiant cut achievable. It is created without mining, so there is no excavation and no doubt about origin. Every centre stone we set is independently certified.
