A radiant cut lab grown diamond in four claws over a hidden halo, on a flat edge band, with the head finished in white metal. That last detail is worth explaining because it is not decoration. When a colourless diamond is set in yellow or rose gold, the metal of the claws reflects into the stone through its lower facets and can give the edges a faint warm cast. Setting the head and claws in white metal removes that reflection entirely, so a colourless stone stays colourless while the band keeps the colour you chose. It is a technique used in fine jewellery for over a century and it is why so many antique yellow gold rings have white settings. Band details

A flat edge band with squared outer corners and a high polish, unbroken all the way around and set with no stones. The head and claws are finished in white metal so the centre stone reads as colourless whichever metal you choose for the band. A row of pave sits hidden inside the basket. Metal options

Available in 925 sterling silver, 10K yellow gold, 10K rose gold, 10K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 14K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K yellow gold, 18K rose gold and 18K white gold. Yellow gold, as photographed, gives the strongest two tone contrast between a warm band and a white head. In white gold and sterling silver the effect is invisible because the whole ring is already white. Rose gold gives the softest version of the contrast.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the head a different metal from the band?
Because coloured metal reflects into a colourless diamond. A white head removes that reflection so the stone holds its E colour, while the band stays whatever colour you chose. It is a deliberate two tone construction, not a mismatch.

Can I have it all in one metal?
Yes, at no extra cost. Tell us at checkout and we will make the head in the same metal as the band. The stone will still look excellent, just very slightly warmer at the edges in yellow or rose gold.

What is a flat edge band?
A band with a flat outer face and squared edges instead of a rounded profile. It gives a crisper modern line and sits flush against a matching flat wedding band without rocking.

What is a hidden halo?
A row of small diamonds set into the basket beneath the centre stone, facing outward instead of upward. Invisible from above, it lights the ring in profile and lifts the head slightly.

What is a radiant cut?
A rectangle with cut corners and a brilliant faceting pattern underneath, so it has the clean outline of an emerald cut but returns light in bright flashes like a round.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes. A free IGI certificate for the centre stone comes with every order, listing colour, clarity, cut and carat weight.

Does the white head wear off?
No. It is solid white metal, not a plating, so there is no rhodium layer to wear through and no re plating required.

Why buy a lab grown diamond

A lab grown diamond is chemically and optically the same as a mined one, graded on the same scales by the same laboratories, at a fraction of the price. That is what makes a VVS2 E colour radiant at 4 or 5 carat achievable, and at that colour grade the white head matters, because there is real colourlessness to protect. It is grown rather than excavated, so there is no mining involved and the origin is never in question.
